Radiesse is a dermal filler (sometimes called soft tissue fillers) used for smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, to produce a more youthful appearance. It is made up of CaHA, or calcium hydroxylapatite, microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. When injected, the CaHA particles integrate into the skin to stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin production.

Individuals 35-60 years old most commonly receive dermal fillers like Radiesse. However, individuals who have a history of severe allergies, have a bleeding disorder or are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use Radiesse. Before Radiesse treatment, a consultation appointment is needed with Dr. Bilbruck. During this appointment, she will evaluate your facial structure and skin and review your medical history to create a personalized treatment plan for you.

To begin treatment, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin. Next, Radiesse will be skillfully injected into the predetermined areas. Treatment can take anywhere from 10-20 minutes, depending on the number of injections.

Following dermal filler treatment, patients may experience mild swelling, bruising, redness, and itching, which will resolve with time. For the best outcomes, we advise patients to avoid prolonged sunlight exposure and strenuous activity for 24 hours after treatment. Radiesse results can be seen immediately after treatment, with full results seen within one week. Results can last for up to two years.
