Treatment
Anesthesia is not required for microdermabrasion. To begin treatment, your skin will be cleansed and prepped. Next, a diamond-tip wand is gently moved across the skin to exfoliate. Moisturizer and sunscreen will then be applied to end the treatment. Each treatment lasts bout 30 minutes.

Recovery
Following microdermabrasion, you may experience mild tenderness, swelling, bruising, and redness. For a day or so after treatment, it may feel as if you have a minor sunburn. Be sure to apply sunscreen when outdoors, as your skin will be sensitive to the sun.
The number of treatments needed will depend on your individual skincare goals. Generally, patients can benefit from a series of 6 to 10 treatments, each spaced 7 to 14 days apart.
