To start Kybella injections, Dr. Bilbruck will mark the injection sites with a surgical marker and apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your comfort. The Kybella will then be injected using a fine needle. At each Kybella treatment, patients will receive multiple small injections under the chin. The exact number of injections needed will depend on the amount of fat under the chin and the desired results. Each treatment takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and multiple treatments may be needed.

Following Kybella, you may experience swelling, bruising, redness, and numbness at the injection site. You can expect to see results within 4 to 6 weeks of your first treatment as the body needs time to eliminate the destroyed fat cells, with continued results after every following appointment.

Since everyone has a different chin profile, the number of cosmetic treatments needed overall will vary from patient to patient.
